First time ever being out of the country for more than forty eight hours was a experience to never forget. First night there me and Kaye decided to explore the town. Have some dinner at Mano Verde. Had great food, and got a good feel for the vibe of the town. You ever go somewhere and you just instantly connect with it? That’s definitely how it felt with Jaco, it felt very natural and almost as if I’ve been there before. It was a really interesting feeling.
Our first day here I was already getting to experience something i’ve never had the privilege to experience before. Life in a different country, everything felt like it moved slower… less stressful and more time for enjoying just life, Costa Rica’s catch phrase is ‘Pura Vida’ I was able to get that right when I stepped foot outside my airbnb, from the natural vegetation to the dirt roads, random dogs roaming the town, and kids running around aimlessly just looking for ways to have fun. It seemed a lot more clear.
Day 2 the Family touched down and all we wanted to do was kick it at the beach, I decided to leave my camera behind that day cause, Cameras and Sand don’t really go well together. But hey, horseback riding was fucking amazing. Excuse my French, but its appropriate.
We wanted to be a little spontaneous after relaxing all day when everyone got in, so we decided on renting out an ATV Tour through Jaco. We rode up to the top of the mountains and ended up seeing some fantastic views, I also figured out that I really enjoy being on an ATV and it made me want to move to the cornfields and become a farmer lol. Out in the US we’re either popping wheelies on the streets of NYC or Philly, but out here, its just another means of transportation. Don’t get me wrong though, im sure some people out here get it bustin!
After staying a couple more days in Jaco we made our way to the Capital of Costa Rica. The city was a completely different vibe from the Beach Town. Something I’m used to being from Chicago.
